1. Agreement to Terms

By using TreeCreator, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. We may update these terms occasionally - continued use means you accept any changes.

2. Description of Service

TreeCreator is a web-based family tree building application. Your data is stored locally in your browser - we do not store your family tree data on our servers. The service is provided as a Progressive Web App (PWA) accessible at treecreator.com.

3. License Tiers & Pricing

TreeCreator offers three tiers:

• Starting (Free): Up to 30 family members
• Advanced ($29.99 one-time): Up to 150 family members, 1 device
• Premium ($79.99 one-time): Unlimited family members, 2 devices, all features

All paid licenses are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Prices may vary by region.

4. License Terms

Each license is granted to one individual for personal, non-commercial use:

• Licenses are tied to device fingerprints and cannot be shared
• Advanced licenses allow use on 1 device; Premium allows 2 devices
• You may deactivate a device and activate a new one if you change computers
• Licenses are non-transferable

5. Gift Licenses

Gift licenses can be purchased for others. The recipient activates the license on their own device. Gift licenses are subject to the same terms as regular licenses.

6. Refund Policy

We want you to be happy with TreeCreator. If you're not satisfied within 14 days of purchase, contact us for a refund. Refunds are at our discretion and may be denied if we detect abuse.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Share your license key with others
• Attempt to circumvent license restrictions
• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the software
• Resell or redistribute the software

8. Your Data & Backups

Your family tree data is stored locally in your browser. We strongly recommend regular backups using the export feature. We are not responsible for data loss due to browser issues, clearing browser data, device failure, or any other cause. You are solely responsible for backing up your data.

9. Intellectual Property

TreeCreator and all associated intellectual property belong to Coiron Ltd. Your purchase grants you a license to use the software, not ownership of it. Your family tree data belongs to you.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

TreeCreator is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coiron Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of TreeCreator. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license.

12. Service Changes & Termination

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We may terminate your license if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends, but your locally stored data remains yours.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Scotland.
